The short version
Istangull has no login and no password. It keeps an anonymous player ID, the username you choose and your trip scores, so there can be a leaderboard. There are no ads, no tracking and no third-party analytics in the app. We don’t sell data.
Who we are
Istangull is made by ebrardev (“we”, “us”), which is responsible for the data described here. You can reach us at hello@istangull.com.
Your anonymous player ID
The first time you open Istangull, it signs in anonymously to our backend, which runs on Supabase. That creates a random player ID. It is kept in your device’s Keychain so the game recognises you next time. It isn’t linked to your name, email, Apple ID or contacts.
Your username
You pick a username of 3 to 16 characters. It is shown publicly on the leaderboard next to your best score. Please use a nickname, not your real name. You can change it any time in Settings → Change name.
Your scores
When you finish a trip, we store its score together with the trip’s random seed, the bird you flew and the date. We use them to build the leaderboard, which shows each player’s best trip.
Purchases
Simit packs and Altın Martı are sold through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or payment details. We use RevenueCat to verify that a purchase is genuine. RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt linked to your anonymous player ID, and nothing else about you.
What stays on your phone
Your simit wallet, the birds you own and your settings are stored only on your device. They never reach our servers. (Apple and RevenueCat keep a record of birds bought with real money, so you can restore them.)
Istangull uses your device’s gyroscope so you can look around by moving the phone. Motion data is processed on the device while you play and is never stored or sent anywhere.
Who processes data for us
- Supabase: the database that holds your player ID, username and scores.
- RevenueCat: purchase verification, linked to your anonymous player ID.
- Apple: the App Store and in-app payments, under Apple’s own privacy policy.
Like any online service, they process your IP address to deliver requests and may keep short-lived technical logs for security and reliability.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Settings → Delete my data. That permanently removes your username, your scores and your anonymous account from our servers. Your simit wallet and birds stay on the phone until you delete the app.
RevenueCat keeps its record of past purchases, linked only to the anonymous ID. If you’d like that removed as well, email hello@istangull.com and we’ll take care of it.
How long we keep it
Your username and scores stay for as long as your account exists, which is until you delete your data or ask us to. If you delete the app without doing so, they remain on the leaderboard under your username.
Your rights
You can see your data in the app, change your username in Settings and delete everything with Delete my data. For anything else, including a copy of your data, write to hello@istangull.com.
This website
istangull.com is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or any identifier that could follow you across sites. We see which pages are visited and from which country, nothing about you.
Children
We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. The only thing anyone types into Istangull is a username, so please keep it a nickname that doesn’t identify you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be announced in the app.
